The revelation that PM Lee was not invited to the inaugural One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Forum sparked some commentators questioning if China is leaving Singapore out in the cold.
The Chinese-led initiative which aims to rebuild the ancient Silk Road is seen as a strong signal of intent by China to create an economic renaissance across the Eastern hemisphere.
Singaporeans are still uncertain about OBOR. One in five think it presents a threat to Singapore while two in five see both upside and downside. Only 12% of Singaporeans characterise OBOR as a clear opportunity.
