Racial Harmony Study Featured in New TV Documentary

Regardless of Race aired August 15th at 8pm on Channel NewsAsia

Blackbox was recently commissioned by Channel NewsAsia (CNA) in partnership with the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) to conduct a survey of 2,000 Singaporeans on the issue of race. The findings were featured in a 45-minute ground-breaking documentary – Regardless of Race – which premiered August 15th on Channel NewsAsia.

In the study – one of the first of its kind in Singapore – Blackbox supported the CNA-IPS partnership in asking Singaporeans about their attitudes on racial harmony, tolerance and their thoughts on talking candidly about race and race-related topics.

Whilst Blackbox’s findings showed that the vast majority of Singaporeans trust those of differing races, half were found to harbour negative stereotypes. Additionally, just over a quarter (27%) of the population admitted to having made racially-stereotypical comments at some point, highlighting the barriers that persist in striving for a more harmonious society and community.

Regardless of Race premiered August 15th on Channel NewsAsia.
Additional reruns air August 16th at 1am, 6pm and 8pm on CNA.
